Its definitely broken

Now don't get worried from looking at this picture because this is just the first wreck of the day. After unloading the snowmobiles and putting on all their gear in preparation for an epic day of snowmobiling, Ryan, Will and Sean were only 5 minutes from the trucks when Ryan's throttle stuck. He heard the engine start to rev up so he bailed off the side of the sled only to watch it drive full-out into a tree. It is completely totalled.

But this fine injury...

...came after Ryan returned to the truck & trailer to exchange the totalled sled for a fresh one that still ran. Apparently there is a snowmobile skill (see video below) where you do circles in a clearing or meadow seeing how tight you can make them. So, Ryan is doing the aforementioned circles in a clearing about 2-3 miles from the trucks. On the now-totalled sled he would normally let up on the throttle just a bit to straighten the snowmobile out and bring it out of the "cookie" but that didn't work on this one. Instead, the forward moving momentum of the sled stopped while Ryan's body didn't. So he was bucked off over the front of the sled while it was still moving just enough for the skiis to run over his chest and head.

I received a call from Will at about 9:45am to tell me that they were headed to the Lebanon Hospital and would I meet them there? It took him about 5 minutes to convince me he was actually serious. After x-rays, fast-talking doctors and drug-toting nurses, Ryan was put into a sling and sent home with hard-core painkillers and a referral to a bone specialist. We wait until tomorrow to see if he will need surgery to put a plate in to fix the broken clavicle.
The Dora bandaid is from Zoe to make Daddy's owie all better!
And as for his head that was run over too?....well, I'm not sure if it was the helmet or just his thick skull that saved him on that one.

Maybe the fellows will realize that doing some dangerous stuff isn't worth it if they leave a widow and children? Sheesh! I can't believe another throttle stuck!! YET it wasn't that machine that injured him!! I'm SO glad he is alive and it's ONLY a broken collar bone... phew.

SO sorry JP! Although I have to say I was a little relieved that it wasn't Sean this time! Just like you it took Sean forever to convince me of what happened,,, why is that? I suppose I've heard these stories too many times! Don't let him get out of too much housework and childcare!

Glad everybody's ok! I'm very glad Tyler could care less about that kind of stuff.... he'd rather go camping/fishing or work on an old chevy. So far they haven't been toooo dangerous..... =)
