This was Zoe's pink eye shortly before we went to the doctor and before it spread to the other eye. Thank goodness Kaia never got it!
For Mother's Day we met my family and Nana and Papa up at McDowell Creek Falls for a picnic.
Shelley and I took the kids down to Southern California to visit her mom for a week and then go to Mtn. Ranch convention. We had great fun and went to lots of places that I'd never been before. Zoe and Chet got along great the whole time with just a few bouts of squabbling and Kaia learned to crawl!
Best Buds even after hours and HOURS in the car!
This is the only picture I got of Kaia on her hands and knees. She started crawling while we were down there although she mostly does an army crawl.
I got these shirts on the way down south...love them!
This was at a really nice park near Brenda's house. We went there a few times with sandwiches and let the kids play for a couple hours....good way to run out excess energy! :)
Brenda has this awesome climbing tree in her front yard...Zoe and Chet would run to it every time we got out of the car. Shelley remembers climbing on it when she was a little girl :)
We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with Brenda on Saturday...it was packed! There were so many people there but we were able to navigate our large strollers through the crowd so the kids could see almost everything. It is totally geared toward kids and they loved it!
This penguin was the only one in the water and it loved playing with Chet and Zoe. They thought he/she was pretty funny!
Sitting in a penguin shell...I don't think they are this size in real life though.
Santa Cruz is about 45 min. from Brenda's house so we went there on Monday...of course, it turns out to be the coldest day of the whole week and we were freezing! The kids didn't seem to mind though...they had a blast and didn't want to leave.
We left for Mtn. Ranch on Wednesday, set up the tent, ate dinner, went to meeting then to bed. All I will say about that is that it was a ROUGH night! Thursday rolls around and Chet is still sleeping so Zoe, Kaia and I go to breakfast, Kaia dumps the plate I had fixed for Shelley and Chet so we get another one, get dressed, go to meeting, deal with wiggly and loud kids, are so frustrated and exhausted that we decide to pack up and go home. We felt pretty bad about leaving but we needed and missed our husbands! It was the best feeling in the world to crawl into my own bed on Friday night after 10 days away!
Since we weren't at convention for long I only got one picture of the girls in their matching dresses.
One of many pluses about coming home early is that we got to be here for Ryan's 28th birthday (today)! He requested Key Lime Cheesecake...YUMM!!
This was the only picture I could get of Chet wearing Zoe's pink dress-up shoes. He didn't want to be photographed wearing such girly attire!
