A Very Merry Birthday!

The first of many 'Happy Birthday' songs!

Kaia was a great helper in opening Zoe's presents

We have a rule in our house: no gum until one is 4 years old. So Zoe got a lot of gum for her birthday! (Side story: a few days after her birthday while she was chewing gum, she started bawling! Like sobbing the-world-is-going-to-end bawling! We couldn't figure out what was wrong until she calmed down enough to tell us she had accidentally swallowed her gum instead of spitting it out. Oh my! At least she is going to be a rule-follower!)

For her birthday party, Zoe had specifically requested an 'Ariel Birthday.' So we invited some friends to swim with us at Splash!
Gabriel, Josh, Zach, Zoe, Kaia and Auntie Kiana weren't too thrilled to get out of the pool for this picture...even with the promise of cupcakes!

For some reason I don't have any pictures of Tony, Martha, Josh and Zach but we do want to let them know that we're so glad they came and swam with us!

Then Aunt Shelley had more birthday cupcakes for Zoe that evening! So far, she says its her best birthday ever!
