On Wednesday, Ryan and I noticed that our cat, Cinco, was looking rather large around the middle section. I figured she either had kittens or worms in there so I called the vet to make an appt. She wasn't around this morning so I canceled the appt. and hoped she was hunkered down somewhere out of the storm. She finally showed up on the deck this evening to get some food and I didn't let her out of my sight. I followed her down to a little lean-to on our property where she slithered down a tiny hole under a piece of plywood that apparently was covering a rather large hole. Ryan helped me lift off the wood and we found 4 adorably scrawny rats. She was protecting them so we're guessing they must be kittens.

The girls watched us out the window as all this took place and they were so excited when we finally brought the kittens (and mama) inside.

The cat carrier had made a wonderful temporary home for these animals. The girls can't open the door so I don't have to worry about them picking up a kitten and getting a scratch from the mama.

The one on the far left is the runt. He/she is about half the size of the others but Cinco hasn't tried pushing him/her away yet so I'm hoping that it'll survive.

Ryan says we're not keeping any of them so if you'd like a kitten in about 8 weeks just let me know!
